On Saturday night, Golovkin (30-0, 27 KO) enters the ring to take on interim WBC titleholder Marco Antonio Rubio (59-6-1).
Rubio, who failed to make weight on Friday, has recorded finishes in his last two fights.
That streak does not compare to GGG, who has finished every opponent he has stepped into the ring with since 2008. That is 17 straight fights in which Golovkin has finished his opponents.
By failing to make weight, Rubio also lost his interim title and his opportunity to win Golovkin’s title.
Also on Saturday’s card is a featherweight fight between Nonito Donaire (33-2; 21 KOs) vs. Nicholas Walters (24-0; 20 KOs).
