Washington Redskins defensive tackle Chris Baker has been fined $10,000 for pulling off Carson Palmer’s helmet.

Chris Baker just doesn’t like quarterbacks. How else to explain the last month for the Washington Redskins defensive tackle? Just a few weeks ago, we were talking about Baker being fined after laying a hard blindside block on QB Nick Foles, then grabbing the face mask of lineman Jason Peters when approached by Peters. Now he’s being fined because he ripped the helmet off QB Carson Palmer at the end of a sack.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted that Baker will be fined $10,000 for the act against Palmer, which will be Baker’s second fine in a month. While Baker must once again reach in his pocketbook to pay for a boneheaded, unnecessary play. The Redskins can only hope the rest of their players don’t plan to act with such recklessness for the rest of the season.

The Redskins will move on to the Tennessee Titans next with a prime opportunity to get a win in the highly competitive NFC East. What they can’t do is allow Baker or any other buffoon to ruin what should be an easy win against a feeble opponent with a 15-yard penalty here and there.

It takes one strong breath in the direction of a quarterback’s head or knees to get a roughing-the-passer penalty and pulling off the antics Baker has of late is sure to cost his team in the future unless he shapes up.
