Fantasy Football Week 7: Last Minute Value Options
It’s another huge week of fantasy football today as we hit the midway point of most season-long leagues. Whether you’re hitting the waiver wire for a last-minute fix or filling in the last few slots on your one-week league, one thing all fantasy owners are looking for is value options.
More from Arizona Cardinals
- NFL Power Rankings: Who is the best quarterback in each division?
- Steelers almost had a full-blown family reunion in Pittsburgh
- NFL Power Rankings: Which teams will have the best rushing attacks this season?
- NFL Rumors: Is a Kyler Murray trade on the horizon for the Cardinals?
- NFL rumors: The latest on DeAndre Hopkins’ free agency entering the weekend
If you are looking for our full start/sit, it was posted here yesterday, and many of the same “start” players will appear here. The options listed here are players who I think will outperform their ranking or salary and produce despite not being viewed as stars.
If you are playing in a one-week fantasy contest or any salary based format, it’s important to get some players who are inexpensive but still produce points at a high level. They may not lead the week in scoring, but they should produce points and can be had at a lesser cost than options that I think could struggle. These players are in matchups to attack and should be able to produce given opportunity, form, and opponent. If you own them in season-long formats, they make great starts for week 7.

Check out the following slides for my value plays at each position:
Quarterback
Joe Flacco-Baltimore Ravens: Flacco had a monster game last week and is lined up for another this week as the Falcons come to Baltimore. Atlanta has struggled against the pass especially on the road, and Flacco is in the groove. If you decide not to go with a top-name QB, Flacco deserves a look.
Carson Palmer-Arizona Cardinals: Palmer takes on his former team as the Cardinals visit Oakland this Sunday. He should be able to open up the offense and get both Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd involved. Look for him to make a statement in Oakland after he struggled there and as he continues he comeback from his shoulder issue.
Ryan Tannehill-Miami Dolphins: The Dolphins travel to Chicago to take on the Bears pass defense that has allowed a passing touchdown in every game this year. Tannehill is coming off back-to-back multi-touchdown games and is a strong QB2 this week.
Jake Locker-Tennessee Titans: If you are looking for a total flier play, Locker is in a good matchup agains the Redskins secondary. No team in the NFL has allowed more points per game to opposing QB’s, but Locker will have to be active which is still uncertain since he’s listed as questionable. Make sure to check the inactives, but if he gets the start, Locker could be a bargain basement option that pays off.
