Percy Harvin was reportedly on the radar of the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts before he was dealt to the New York Jets this week in a shocking NFL trade.

The Seattle Seahawks shook up the NFL landscape this week by trading wide receiver Percy Harvin to the New York Jets for a conditional draft pick. It turns out that some of the deals they discussed with other teams would have been even more fascinating had they gone through.

Harvin is headed to a situation where he will have the chance to significantly improve a Jets’ offense that looks helpless at times. Had a different interested team landed Harvin, however, he might have ended up in a situation with an offense that is already humming along.

Two such examples of offensive powerhouses that were engaged in talks for Harvin would be the Denver Broncos and the Indianapolis Colts. According to Conor Orr and Ian Rapoport of NFL.com:

"Sources involved in the process told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport that the Colts, Browns, Broncos and Buccaneers were also among the teams Schneider looked at for a possible deal."

In the Browns’ case, a potential deal for tight end Jordan Cameron was discussed.

In Indianapolis, Harvin could have played with Andrew Luck, the leading passer in the league right now and likely the best quarterback in the NFL not named Philip Rivers this season. Or he could have joined Peyton Manning on a Broncos’ team already full of star players and an offense that remains among the very best in football.

Instead he is headed to the Jets. Hey, at least he will have some adventures, right?
