Missouri’s Markus Golden Mocks Gators with ‘Gator Chomp’ After Interception
By Mike Marteny
Tigers’ Markus Golden adds insult to insult by doing Gator Chomp after returning a fumble for a touchdown
The Missouri Tigers showed up in Gainesville ready to play on Saturday night. Well, at least the defense and special teams did. The defense forced six turnovers, including four more by the much-maligned Jeff Driskel. The Tigers scored touchdowns on a kickoff return, punt return, interception return, and fumble return.

The fumble return was a 21 yarder by Markus Golden that made the score 35-0 in the third quarter. Golden celebrated his touchdown by mocking the Gators and their fans by doing the famed Gator Chomp.
Talk about adding insult to insult!
Perhaps the biggest insult here is the stubbornness of Florida head coach Will Muschamp. Driskel has now turned the ball over a staggering 12 times in his last four games. And he hasn’t even played every down in those games! Yet Muschamp insists on running him out there.
Granted, Treon Harris didn’t fare much better -he lost a fumble and threw an interception as well- but you have to do something to change what is happening down there in Gainesville. This is Florida’s roughest stretch since the late 1970’s, and what makes this particularly hard to swallow is the fact that the Florida defense has been outstanding. They held Missouri to just 119 yards of offense!
Last year, most gave Muschamp the benefit of the doubt because of all of the injuries that Florida suffered last year. This year, some picked them to win the SEC East. Now they are lucky to sit at 3-3, and will have a very tough time becoming bowl eligible.
Will Muschamp be the next to get Gator Chomped? A lot of the fans hope so. A “fire Muschamp” chant broke out during a third quarter in which the visiting Tigers scored 22 points.
