Giants vs Royals live stream information

The San Francisco Giants travel to Kauffman Stadium Tuesday night to face the Kansas City Royals in Game 1 of the 2014 World Series. Both teams have enjoyed some days off and the chance to get key players some rest, and now the Fall Classic will finally get underway.

There are a number of similarities between these two teams. One key difference, however, is how they run the bases. The Royals are famously a team that steals a lot of bases and take extra bases, while the Giants play much more station to station. When the Giants and Royals met this season, Kansas City’s running game overwhelmed San Francisco in a three-game sweep.

The Giants aren’t going to obsess about stopping the Royals’ running game though. “Do not let these guys bother you,” Giants’ pitching coach Dave Righetti said, via CSN Bay Area. “If they want to do silly stuff like take off for third base with nobody out, let them. If we need to hold them late in a game, we do that as well as anybody. If they want to run, they’re going to run. We can’t let it become an atmosphere we don’t handle very well, and quite frankly, we’ve been beat up a few times that way.”

Both the Giants and the Royals will have their ace pitchers on the mound to start Game 1. Madison Bumgarner will start for San Francisco opposite James Shields for Kansas City.
