Croatian Boxer Vido Loncar viciously attacks a referee after he awards the match to his opponent Algirdas Baniulis.

If you have ever played, or even watched, a sport over the course of your life, then there is a good chance that you have imagined clocking a referee into next week.

Whether it was for a bad call, a missed call, or maybe you were just plain bitter that your team lost the match. The good news is, us normal people would never act on such a thought, no matter how much it may silently make us feel better.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Croatian boxer Vido Loncar. In fact, he all-out assaulted a referee after the ref announced his opponent the winner of the match.

It all went down at the European Youth Boxing Championships in Zagreb, Croatia. As we said before, Croatian boxer Vido Loncar was taking on Lithuanian boxer Algirdas Baniulis.

In the video, which you can see below, Baniulis comes out and puts a pretty decent beating on Loncar before the referee steps in to separate the two fighters. There is no audio on the video so what was actually said between the parties is unknown.

In any case, the referee had made his decision, and that was to award the bout to Baniulis.

Both fighters returned to their corner and got “cleaned up” prior to the official announcement of the referee’s decision. Like a good sport, Baniulis made his way to the middle of the ring. Just when you think Loncar is about to do the same, well…his happens.

Baniulis quickly heads for the hills once the melee starts. Slightly surprising for someone who just won the fight, but that is neither here nor there. At the same time, Loncar has to be forcibly removed from the ring by his ankles.

It takes a few moments, but the referee is eventually able to make his way to a chair and be properly looked at after the attack.

As we said before, we don’t truly know what went down or what was said between the two parties that may have sparked this incident; however, the one thing we do know is that no matter how ticked off you may be, whether it is the referee’s fault or not, you never purposefully put your hands on a referee.

What are your thoughts on the incident? Have you ever witnessed an incident like this one? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
