A four-star prospect from Cleveland who committed to Florida in July has flipped his commitment to Ohio State, according to his Twitter account.

Jerome Baker, a linebacker/running back from Cleveland who is rated by Rivals as the No. 4 athlete in the class of 2015, flipped his commitment Tuesday from Florida to Ohio State.

According to Cleveland.com, Ohio State coach Urban Meyer and his staff never stopped its pursuit of Baker, even after the Benedictine High School star running back/outside linebacker committed to the Gators. Baker still decided to take his recruiting trips, including an unofficial visit to Ohio State in September. Before the game, Baker met with Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith and player personnel director Mark Pantoni.

"“It felt really good,” Baker said after the visit. “It feels really good to know that Ohio State still wants me that bad.”"

At the time Baker said he also planned to visit Michigan State and Tennessee.

"“Florida is fine with it,” Baker said at the time. “I am just having fun with the process.”"

Considering the week that Florida has had, what with six turnovers in a 42-13 loss at home to Missouri last Saturday night, giving up four touchdowns on various types of returns, it would be interesting to know how “fine with it” embattled Gators coach Will Muschamp is now. With Baker’s commitment, Ohio State now has three highly rated linebackers from in-state set to don the scarlet and gray. Besides Baker, the Buckeyes previously landed commitments from five-star prospect Justin Hilliard of Cincinnati and from Nick Conner, a four-star linebacker from Dublin.
