By Clinton Cole
Julio Jones is one of the top wide receivers in the NFL, but blames himself for the Falcons’ offensive issues through Week 7.
The Atlanta Falcons have only won two games so far in 2014 and Julio Jones is certain the offensive part of the equation is his fault.

According to an article written by Kevin Patra of Around the NFL, Jones was on NFL AM Wednesday morning to talk about what has gone wrong so far.
“It starts with me,” Jones said. ” I got to go out there and catch the ball, be more of a deep threat. … We are out there misreading or dropping balls.”
Jones also said that he didn’t think the opposing defenses were much of an issue and that, ‘we have to fix that here’.
Through seven games, Jones is fourth in receiving yards with 676, just behind T.Y. Hilton of the Indianapolis Colts.
Matt Ryan and the Falcons are currently in fourth place and a half-game ahead of the dreadful Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
According to Sportingcharts.com, Jones has only dropped two passes this season. Jones’s teammate, Roddy White, is tied for second with five.
As for the Falcons offense as a whole, they rank sixth in yards per game with just under 390 and 12th in points per game with 24.4.
Julio Jones also said that as playmakers, they need to continue to make plays and move the chains.
The Falcons will have their work cut out for them again this weekend when they face the league’s second-most stingiest defense in the Detroit Lions. The Lions are giving up a meager 15 points a game. Detroit is also amongst the league leaders in sacks with 21 so far.
While Julio Jones isn’t really the one to blame thus far, the entire Falcons team will have to play well to beat the Lions in London on Sunday.
