NBA general managers believe LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers will win his fifth MVP award this season.

Although the San Antonio Spurs were voted as the overwhelming favorite to topple the Cleveland Cavaliers as NBA champions, it’s the Cavs who will employ the 2014-15 NBA MVP.

That’s the belief of general managers around the league as they voted James as the likely winner of the honorary award.

In one of the biggest routes in the annual NBA General Manager Survey (which polls every GM in the league), King James destroyed his competition as he received a staggering 67.9 percent of the vote.

It’s possible the difference between he and second place winner Kevin Durant could have been closer if the Oklahoma City Thunder star wasn’t starting the season off injured, but it seems pretty reasonable to assume LeBron James will be bringing home his fifth NBA MVP award at season end.

"Who will win the 2014-15 MVP?1. LeBron James, Cleveland — 67.9%2. Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City — 21.4%Also receiving votes: Carmelo Anthony, New York; Blake Griffin, L.A. Clippers; Chris Paul, L.A. Clippers"

NBA GM’s went all in on LeBron James last season as they predicted he would win the award during the 2013-14 campaign though it was Kevin Durant who eventually brought home the hardware. It’s hard to begrudge the GM’s however as LeBron James was very much worthy of receiving the MVP award and will likely be worthy of such this year as well.

It’s difficult to tell just how differently LeBron James will play upon his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers and if he’ll attempt to be more of a facilitator given the talent around him, so it’s possible his scoring numbers could go down slightly. Still even if that’s the case, his assist numbers will likely go up giving him more than enough stats to be in contention.
