Los Angeles Lakers co-owner Jeanie Buss says any NBA player who avoided playing with Kobe Bryant is a ‘loser’.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

It’s been a rough week for Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant who was first labeled as the 40th best player in the NBA by ESPN. That didn’t sit well with the Black Mamba, who called the Worldwide Leader ‘idiots’ for making such a claim. His week was about to get worse though as a few days later annoyances NBA agents all but suggested Kobe Bryant was the reason for the Los Angeles Lakers’ fall from grace.

Essentially, the agents claimed players didn’t want to play with Kobe Bryant, something Los Angeles Lakers co-owner Jeanie Buss deemed rather ludicrous.

The daughter of legendary owner, Jerry Buss, Jeanie suggested that any player who wouldn’t want to play with Kobe Bryant is a ‘loser’.

“Any free agent that would be afraid to play with Kobe Bryant is probably a loser, and I’m glad they wouldn’t come to the team,” Buss said during a “SportsCenter” interview Thursday.

Man, shots fired at the direction of Dwight Howard?

Simply put, Kobe Bryant, talented as he is, can at times rub people the wrong way. That includes teammates and coaches so such a sentiment of players avoiding playing with him could potentially hold some weight. On the flip side, this is one of the greatest players to ever set foot on an NBA court and has plenty of rings to prove such. So in all honesty, would a player decide against playing with Kobe Bryant all because he can have a bad attitude at times?

Until a prominent player comes out and suggests such, it’s really difficult to believe significant talent (outside of Dwight Howard) preferred to avoid playing alongside Kobe Bryant. Still, it doesn’t seem the conversation will be going away in the near future.
