Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte explains Brandon Marshall’s locker room outburst after Sunday’s loss to the Miami Dolphins.

More from Chicago Bears

After the Miami Dolphins came into Solider Field and curb-stomped the Chicago Bears, wide receiver Brandon Marshall was none too happy. The sometimes volatile wideout exploded after the tough loss and called out a handful of players.

The outburst even forced some players to leave the locker room and the explosion of tempers quickly made waves throughout the NFL.

Former Chicago Bears head coach and franchise icon Mike Ditka took a shot at the organization along with head coach Marc Trestman and some pundits began to wonder if the Bears need a change.

That doesn’t seem to be the sense from running back Matt Forte though, who chalked out Brandon Marshall’s locker room explosion as the wide receiver simply being frustrated.

For all the things that Brandon Marshall may be, as Forte notes, it’s not somebody who is what you’d define as a showboat.

In a position filled with diva stars, Marshall tends to do his job and keep relatively quiet about it. Of course, that appears to change when frustration boils over as it did on Sunday afternoon.

Of course, locker room outbursts aren’t exactly uncommon and they happen in just about every sport at every level. It’s just that occasionally they happen at the inopportunte times when the locker room is open to the media and the screaming and yelling gets reported to the masses.

Marshall has become somewhat of a leader for the Chicago Bears and while the acting out grabbed a significant amount of attention, nobody would have even known what went down if not for the open door policy going on at the time.
