Minnesota Twins general manager Terry Ryan said Paul Molitor’s second interview for their manager job went “fine,” but no job offer has been extended yet.

Paul Molitor might still be the favorite for the Minnesota Twins manager job, but despite reports on Tuesday that the Twins were ready to offer the job to him, it appears the team isn’t quite ready to decide on a manager just yet. although Molitor had his second interview for the job:

The Twins (or really any

MLB

team) aren’t supposed to make major announcements during the World Series (and the hiring of a manager is certainly considered such), unless it’s an off day, so there’s a chance the Twins do want Molitor for the job but are being respectful of the

Kansas City Royals

and

San Francisco Giants

.

The Twins would have to receive special permission  from MLB to announce their manager before the end of the World Series, but more likely, Minnesota is still seriously considering Boston Red Sox bench coach Torey Lovullo and Twins Triple-A manager Doug Mientkiewicz, the latter of which has already had his second interview. Molitor is still considered the favorite, although there’s been little confirmation of such in the past week, other than the report he had the job.

One earlier candidates for the Twins job will return to the Cleveland Indians next season:
