Reggie Wayne will miss his first game of the season on Sunday.

More from Denver Broncos

Indianapolis Colts’

wide receiver Reggie Wayne will not play in Sunday’s game against the

Pittsburgh Steelers

. Wayne, one of

Andrew Luck’s

favorite targets, was injured in last week’s game against the

Cincinnati Bengals

.

Wayne and the Colts lead the AFC South with a   record and are one of the better teams in the NFL through seven weeks.

According to Michael David Smith, Wayne will be sidelined with an elbow injury.

For all of you fantasy fans, check out Brad Evans’ tweet:

Reggie Wayne’s season was cut short last year when he tore his ACL, but he has recovered nicely this season. He is second on the team with 38 catches and 434 yards. He only has one touchdown catch this season and that came back in Week 4 against the Tennessee Titans.

Look for Hakeem Nicks and potentially Donte Moncrief to step up in his absence.

The Colts may also be without Trent Richardson as well this week in Pittsburgh.

Wayne, in his 14th season with the Colts, has caught 1,044 passes for 14,000 yards.

While Wayne is headed to the Hall of Fame, the Indianapolis Colts need him in their run to dethrone the Denver Broncos in the AFC.
