The Knicks traded for Travis Outlaw this offseason and it appears that he might be cut before he even gets to play a game.

After trading for Travis Outlaw this offseason, the New York Knicks are strongly considering cutting the veteran forward from their team before he could even play a regular season game. The Knicks are considering cutting Outlaw to preserve a spot for Travis Ware, who impressed the team during the NBA preseason and training camp.

Ware wasn’t too well known coming into training camp, but the 24-year-old has impressed the Knicks and it appears that he may have etched himself a roster spot thanks to his great preseason. The Knicks will still have to pay Outlaw $3 million next season and that brings up the question why they even bothered trading for Outlaw.

The Knicks have had their fair share of questionable moves throughout the years and trading for Outlaw certainly fits in that category. It is not yet known whether or not the Knicks will keep or cut Outlaw, but a decision will soon have to be made. Regardless, the Knicks will be paying Outlaw $3 million and that is too much money for them to spend on a guy that they might cut. We will soon find out if Ware will make the roster, or if Outlaw will make the roster.
