When the final whistle blew, the Cornhuskers easily came away with the win over the Scarlet Knights, 42-24.

The game could really be summed up in three words: “OMG Ameer Abdullah.”

Okay, technically that is five words, but you get the point.

Abdullah scored two touchdowns in the second half to extend Nebraska’s lead over Rutgers to 21-7 on his way to a 200+ yard rushing performance.

Rutgers was as outmatched as you would expect against Nebraska, as they watched the game slip away.

If there was any chance of the Scarlet Knights making a comeback, that ended when Ameer Abdullah rushed 23 yards into the endzone in the fourth quarter to extend Nebraska’s lead to 42-17. The touchdown and yardage made Abdullah the record holder for most all-purpose yardage in Nebraska history, thanks to the addition of his 90 return yards.

There was no turning back for the Cornhuskers as they went on to secure the win.

Abdullah finished the game with 225 yards and three touchdowns, while wide receiver Kenny Bell recorded six catches for 63 yards to become Nebraska’s career receptions leader.
