Texas vs Kansas State Final Score 23-0: Wildcats Improve To 6-1
By Mike Dyce
The unranked Texas Longhorns traveled north looking for their fourth win of the season, to make them .500. Unfortunately that meant getting a win on the road against the No. 11 Kansas State Wildcats that just knocked off the previously No. 11 Oklahoma Sooners in Norman.
It looked like theLonghorns were going to get the job done and hold the Wildcats back, potentially even win the game. Through the first quarter the Wildcats were only able to get two field goals.
In the second quarter the Wildcats went on a long clock killing drive, marching 85 yards down the field for their first touchdown of the game and eating six minutes of clock time. The scoring play was a three-yard run from DeMarcus Robinson, extending their lead to 13-0, which held until the half.
The second half mirrored the first half in some ways. The Longhorns were able to slow the Wildcats down and hold them to a field goal. In the fourth quarter the Wildcats were able to get another touchdown, this one capping a 10-play 86-yard drive. It was Charles Jones running it in from just a yard out for the score this time.
That was the final score of the game, the Longhorns dropping to 3-5 with the Wildcats improving to 6-1 and establishing themselves as the top dog in the Big 12.
