and Peyton Manning wasn’t easy for cornerback Aqib Talib, who signed a multiyear contract with the Broncos over the offseason. . It would seem the Patriots were losing a valuable piece on defense, yet they were able to quickly pencil in a replacement, signing Darelle Revis to a $12-million deal.

“He’s probably the best technical corner I’ve ever seen,” Talib said.

The two cornerbacks will face off on Sunday night in America’s Game of the Week. Talib will return to where he spent the last season and a half.  Aqib tallied five interceptions and 51 tackles in his time with New England and was a part of the Patriots run to the AFC championship last season. This time, Talib will be on the opposite sideline. The Pro Bowler calls it strictly business.

“It’s a business. The time is limited, and it had to be a quick decision,” Talib said on Monday. “You can’t sit back and wait, or your time will go past. Situations were about even. Both have great quarterbacks. Both are great organizations.”

Both organizations are similar in which they’ve seen plenty of success. Brady is the winner of three Super Bowls, while Manning led Denver to the Super Bowl last year and recently reached the top of the list for most touchdowns thrown in a career. There was no loss of championship caliber when Talib made the jump over to Denver. However, things are certainly different almost halfway across the country.

“Everything is different,” Talib said. “First thing that’s different is one of them are called the Broncos, the other one is called the Patriots. The next thing that’s different is the quarterback of one team is Tom Brady, the quarterback on the other team is Peyton Manning.”

Talib’s choice may have come down to a financial standpoint, but he may have also seen a better chance to win in Denver over New England. The Broncos were nothing less than impressive in the first half of the NFL season, while the Patriots struggled out of the gate to get on track. Both teams will meet coming off impressive wins at home to meet in Foxborough. Wes Welker made a similar decision last year. Can this player movement be an underlying theme in the Brady-Manning saga?
