New England Patriots head coach says Peyton Manning has no weakness

In the NFL, the highest of opinions usually comes from coaches prior to Sunday match ups and none this week may top New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick sayings Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has no weaknesses.

From ESPN.com:

"“He’s good because he does everything,” Belichick said during a conference call Tuesday. “But, really, I don’t think there are any bad points in his game.”Belichick proceeded to list off everything that makes Manning such a remarkable quarterback and competitor: “He’s very smart. He has a great understanding of concepts, timing, game management, clock management, situation football, third down, red area, great utilization of the field from sideline to sideline, attacking the deep part of the field, accurate, great decision-maker, quick release, has very few negative plays.”"

If Belichick is judging Manning off this season alone, his assessment is close to the truth. Through seven games, Manning has thrown for 2,134 passing yards, seventh-most in the league to go along with 22 touchdowns, tied for most with Indianapolis Colts successor Andrew Luck. It should be mentioned that Manning has only thrown three interceptions. Manning also leads the league in passer rating at 119.0, the most by a wide margin (second best is Aaron Rodgers at 113.6). By doing this, Manning has led his Broncos to a record of 6-1, as well as toppled the career record for Most Passing Touchdowns, a record once owned by Brett Favre.

And while Manning has been close to Mr. Invincible, he’ll have a great test in front of him as a revamped Patriots defense will be his opposition this week. With the addition of former Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis and Super Bowl champion Brandon Browner to the secondary, the Patriots are second in defending the pass per ESPN’s stats database.

Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning is always a great matchup, but with the two playing some of the best football of their respective careers in these last few weeks, we could be seeing an excellent AFC championship preview this upcoming Sunday.
