One of the most thrilling Major League Baseball Postseason runs came to a disappointing end tonight as the Kansas City Royals fell to the San Francisco Giants.

The Kansas City Royals faced off against Tim Hudson and the San Francisco Giants in the deciding game 7 of the 2014 Major League Baseball World Series. After battling back to tie the game at two, the Royals couldn’t make up a third run and eventually fell to the Giants. As the series comes to a close, so does the Royals run with destiny.

Madison Bumgarner stepped in as a reliever for the Giants a delivered over 60 pitches of mastery. With everyone expecting the one mistake to come, it never did, and Bumgarner shut down the Royals for a third straight time in the World Series.

For the Royals, a fan base waiting 29 years for this moment, crushing has to be the only word to describe it.
