Arizona Cardinals vs. Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys raced out to a 6-1 start this season, briefly holding the best record in the NFL. They let a Monday night game against the Washington Redskins and third string quarterback Colt McCoy slip away to get their second loss of the season.

On Sunday, the Cowboys host the Arizona Cardinals, the last team in the NFC with just one loss. It is a tough match up for the Cowboys coming off a loss and looking to avoid their first losing streak of the season.

Keys to Victory

The key to this game is pretty clear, it is Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. Against the Redskins Romo left the game after taking a hit in the back, that reportedly didn’t affect the part of his back that he had surgery on for the second offseason in a row.

Romo came back into the game and looked concerned about taking a hit and took sacks instead of running out of the pocket like he would have earlier in the game or in other weeks.

The other issue is that the Cardinals love to blitz and blitz a lot, an issue that hindered the Cowboys against the Redskins.

Betting Odds

Point Spread: Dallas -4
Moneyline: Arizona -110; Dallas 110
O/U: 48

Prediction

Unfortunately for the Cowboys, they’ll struggle against the blitz again and Romo will be concerned about protecting his back and quick to drop, take sacks and avoid the hit. The Cowboys could succeed by running a lot and relying on DeMarco Murray, but as we saw in overtime against the Redskins they’re still quick to abandon the run.
