Louisville knows how to play the upset king on Thursday nights, and Florida State is feeling the brunt of that in Kentucky.

The Florida State Seminoles certainly fall in that category in 2014. Whether it’s ongoing off-the-field distrations from quarterback Jameis Winston or game after game of nailbiting endings, the defending NCAA National Champions have seen it all this season. The admirable part of it is, they’ve also been able to fight through the distractions and bad play to remain undefeated.

That’s the swagger that the ‘Noles walk into the battle with versus the #25 Louisville Cardinals. The Cardinals are an extremely scrappy bunch who carry a record of 6-2 and a confidence that they wouldn’t back down from anyone. Both the slow start nature of this year’s Florida State team and the aggressiveness of Louisville showed their faces early as the Cardinals jumped up on the ‘Noles 14-0.

Late in the second quarter, the Cardinals would take advantage of the overpursuit of Florida State with a counter play that put them into the end zone untouched. As Florida State has had to do so many times this year, it was time to look themselves in the mirror and determine who they wanted to be in this game. Are they the team that has been dominating the second half of games or the first half version that still has a stomach full of crab legs?

In football, there’s only so many times you can dodge a bullet. Like the saying goes:

"“You keep knocking on the devil’s door and sooner or later somebody’s going to answer you” – Terrance Howard"

Let’s see if anybody’s looking through that peep hole at Florida State tonight.

Stay tuned.
