Resurgent Tom Brady Named AFC’s Player of The Month

Tom Brady was named the AFC Player of the Month as he reverted back to form following a sluggish September that had many wondering if the future Hall of Famer’s best days had passed by.

Tom Brady began October with many wondering if he was on the verge of decline. He ended it being named the NFL’s Player of the Month for the seventh time of his career.

The New England Patriots QB scorched opposing secondaries during the team’s current four-game win streak, throwing for 1,268 yards and 14 touchdowns without throwing an interception in any of his 144 attempts. Brady completed 69 percent of his passes en route to earning a league-best 129.1 passer rating.

Denver Broncos LB Von Miller earned AFC Defensive Player of the Month after recording seven sacks, while Miami Dolphins WR/KR Jarvis Landry was selected as AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for his NFL-best 35.6 yard average.

Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray was chosen as NFC Player of the Month for the second time this season. Murray averaged 130 yards per game while leading the league 691 yards from scrimmage.

NFC Defensive Player of the Month honors went to Minnesota Vikings DE Everson Griffen, who had six sacks and 20 tackles, while New Orleans Saints K Shayne Graham was named Special Teams Player of the Month for converting all 18 of his field goal and PAT attempts.

Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins was named the league’s Rookie of the Month on offense, with Baltimore Ravens LB C.J. Mosley receiving the accolade on the defensive side of the ball.
