The Baltimore Ravens, already without tight end Dennis Pitta, won’t know until Sunday night whether tight end Owen Daniels will be able to go.

Baltimore Ravens tight end Owen Daniels had minor knee surgery last week, but practiced Friday and might be able to play Sunday night when the Ravens visit the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Daniels was a full participant Friday, according to the team’s injury report.

Coach John Harbaugh said the decision on Daniels would likely be made Sunday night.

"“It’ll probably be a game-time [decision[ with Owen, realistically, coming off knee surgery,” Harbaugh told reporters, via the transcript of the press conference released by the Ravens."

The Ravens (5-3) and the Steelers (5-3) are in a virtual tie for first place in the NFC North with the

Cincinnati Bengals

(4-2-1), while the

Cleveland Browns

(4-3) trail the three clubs by just a half-game in a ridiculously compact division race.

Daniels is second on the Ravens with 27 catches and has 275 yards and three touchdowns. Behind Daniels are Crockett Gillmore (five receptions for 52 yards) and Phillip Supernaw, who does not have a catch this season.

Daniels is in his first season with the Ravens after playing his first eight years with the Houston Texans, with whom he was a two-time Pro Bowler. Houston released Daniels in March despite his willingness to restructure his contract after missing 11 games in 2013 because of a leg injury.

Daniels, 32, was a fourth-round pick by the Texans in the 2006 draft out of Wisconsin.
