Michigan Wolverines head coach Brady Hoke on Wednesday noted to the media that while star freshman Jabrill Peppers is frustrated with the injuries that he’s had to deal with in recent weeks, he is not of the belief that Peppers will transfer out of the program after this season.
During a radio appearance, Hoke was asked specifically about the possibility of Peppers leaving Ann Arbor, and he shot that down immediately.
“No, not at all,” Hoke said via MLive.com. “He came here for a lot of different reasons, and one of them is, as a young kid, he’s always loved Michigan. That was his team growing up in New Jersey. He knows the value of an education. He’s doing great in school, and (knows the value of this) education and what it can do after football.”
Peppers has missed five games this season with two separate injuries. This hasn’t been the breakout season that many predicted for the former five-star talent, so it’s easy to see where there would be some concern about him making his way elsewhere, even if that means sitting out one year.
