Hall of Famer Jim Kelly Claims To Have Developed MRSA Infection
Former Buffalo Bills QB Jim Kelly is reporting that he has developed a MRSA infection.
It has been a rough past few years for NFL legend and hall of fame quarterback Jim Kelly. Things seemed to be looking up as of a month ago. In September, Kelly was finally notified that he was completely cancer-free. But the battle does not appear to be over. The former Bills QB now is telling people he has developed a MRSA infection.

Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) is a form of staphylococcal infection that is highly contagious and difficult to treat. It can be responsible for skin irritations, and respiratory issues among other things. While usually not life-threatening, it requires immediate care and treatment.
Jim Kelly had been experiencing jaw pain as a result of the cancer, which was alleviated following successful chemotherapy. Unfortunately, that same pain has returned. Kelly expressed his thoughts to the Miami Herald regarding the matter.
“I was cleared in September of the cancer — I have another MRI in two weeks. The toughest part for me was I was almost ready to take out my feeding tube, I was feeling good and they said they need to do some biopsies. Those 12 biopsies put me back so far,” said Kelly.
Jim Kelly remains on a feeding tube following another surgery after the aforementioned biopsies.
