James Conner is running like he wants to be invited to New York for the Heisman ceremony next month and the 250-pound running back From Pitt is nearly impossible to tackle as the Duke defense found out on Saturday

The Pitt Panthers were on the wrong side of the scoreboard today as they lost to the Duke Blue Devils in a gut-wrenching double overtime loss but it wasn’t for lack of effort on the part of their star running back James Conner who ran for 263 yards and three touchdowns on 38 carries.

Conner broke Tony Dorsett’s record for rushing yards in the first three games of the season earlier this season and he hasn’t let up as the season wore on with at least 83 yards in each game this year, including two games with more than 200 yards, including today’s career-high effort against the Blue Devils.

Pitt lost 51-48 in double overtime, but for those who had not seen Conner run this season, they certainly saw him put on a clinic as he was nearly impossible to bring down to the ground.
