Chicago Bulls star and former NBA MVP Derrick Rose met with Victor Oladipo of the Orlando Magic and gave him injury advice.

More from Chicago Bulls

Victor Oladipo has yet to take the court for the Orlando Magic this season after suffering a facial fracture just days before the regular season was scheduled to tip-off.

That of course came directly after Oladipo missed seven preseason exhibitions with a sprained knee ligament, so needless to say it’s been a rough few months for the sophomore stud.

Taking notice to such was Chicago Bulls star and former NBA MVP Derrick Rose who’s had more than his fair share of injury woes. Hoping to instill some confidence and hope for Oladipo, Rose sat down with the second overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft recently and told him the following.

“Just have faith and be patient,” Rose answered. “He’s young. He’s very good, as everybody knows, and he’s going to have a lot of basketball to play. So just take his time. Let everything heal, and when he gets back out there, play and go as hard as he can.”

It’s an extremely kind gesture on behalf of Derrick Rose who simply could have done nothing, though extended a helping hand to the young guard simply out of the kindness in his heart.

Few players currently in the NBA understand the mental draining aspect of major injuries more than Rose who of course suffered season ending knee injuries in consecutive seasons. He’s still dealing with his own issues, some of which are coming from fans of the Chicago Bulls, hopefully something Victor Oladipo won’t experience with the Orlando Magic.

Derrick Rose and Victor Oladipo spent time together during USA Basketball training this past summer which has contributed to their budding friendship.
