Denard Robinson Thinks He Can Be NFL’s Best Running Back
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Denard Robinson says he could be the best running back in the league.
The Jacksonville Jaguars still fail to see any hope come from rookie quarterback Blake Bortles, but they’ve found some excitement in an unexpected way with running back (yes, running back) Denard Robinson who has played out of his mind in the past three weeks.

The former Michigan quarterback has 329 yards on 57 carries the past three weeks, more yards than every running back in the NFL in that period.
Jacksonville Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell said that Denard Robinson has evolved into the top back for the Jaguars after Toby Gerhart was supposed to own the position.
“He still is learning, feeling his way, working at it,” Caldwell said. “He’s seeing a lot of things for the first time. He’s not a finished product by any means. He still will have some adversity. But he has developed himself into a good player, and he has a higher ceiling than where he is.”
Denard Robinson said that as he has continued to develop, he has huge ambitions for himself.
“I think I can be one of the top backs in the league,” Robinson said.
Denard Robinson played quarterback for Michigan where he won the “September Heisman” in three different seasons after an outstanding opening month led to disappointed conference seasons. In his three years as a starter for the Wolverines, Denard Robinson averaged over 1,000 yards rushing and over 2,000 yards passing in two of those seasons. He had 4,495 rushing yards as a collegeiate quarterback and he holds the FBS records for the only 1500-yard passing/1500-yard rushing season and most rushing yards by a QB in a career.
He entered the 2013 draft without a true position and was selected by Jacksonville in round five. Now, just a year and a half into his career, Denard Robinson is changing minds, proving to be an effective NFL running back.
