Indiana Pacers forward Paul George has worked out relentlessly during his injury and looks like LeBron James says Roy Hibbert.

More from Indiana Pacers

While it’s believed that Paul George will miss the entire 2014-15 season for the Indiana Pacers, the forward who suffered a gruesome knee injury during a USA Basketball scrimmage isn’t about to count himself out. Whispers have suggested George could try to make a comeback if Indiana was playing in the postseason though the Pacers were quick to shut those suggestions down.

Still, Paul George has been training and rehabbing like a fiend in effort to get back on the court. Sadly he hasn’t been able to work out his legs as much as he’d like to given the nature of his injury, though that has allowed him to focus more time on his upper body.

Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert recently saw George and couldn’t help but rave about the new look, suggesting he has a resemblance to LeBron James.

“He’s been good. He’s been shooting, running in the pool, he’s coming along, and I’m very optimistic,” teammate Roy Hibbert said. “It’s great having him around. He’s working really hard. His upper body is a lot bigger. He’s almost looking like LeBron [James].”

While a return this season is very unlikely, George is reportedly back in the gym working on actual basketball skills and is no longer walking with any type of limp or hitch.

Often times we hear of players bulking up too much and it impacting their shooting mechanics, so it remains to be seen if Paul George’s transformation will have a similar impact. Still, the thought of a bigger Paul George has to be terrifying for those in the Eastern Conference as the last thing he needed was to get any better than he already is.
