The future sites for the Men’s Final Four were announced on Friday evening as the 2014-2015 college basketball season tipped off and New Orleans was snubbed

College basketball is back as the season tipped off today as teams from across the country begin their march toward the Final Four that will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN.

While teams like the Kentucky Wildcats, Duke Blue Devils, Arizona Wildcats, Wisconsin Badgers, among others hope to cut the nets down in Indy in April, the future sites for the Final Four were announced on Friday night and there was one notable omission after the sites for the 2017-2021 Final Four were announced.

Phoenix gets 2017, San Antonio gets 2018, Minneapolis gets 2019, Atlanta gets 2020 and Indy get the 2021 Final Four, but New Orleans who was believed to be a strong candidate to host a Final Four was snubbed.

Is there a better city in the country to host a major sporting event than New Orleans?

It’s the home to the Sugar Bowl, hosted the 2013 Women’s Final Four and has been the host city for a number of Super Bowl’s in year’s past, but unfortunately the Crescent City will have to wait until at least 2022 for their opportunity to be selected as one of the host cities for the Men’s Final Four.

Atlanta was the host city for last year’s Final Four where Connecticut knocked off Kentucky to win the national title.
