The Minnesota Timberwolves are reportedly actively shopping shooting guard Corey Brewer, looking for a trade.

According to ESPN Insider Marc Stein, the Minnesota Timberwolves are in discussions with multiple teams looking to trade for veteran shooting guard Corey Brewer.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

According to Stein, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Houston Rockets have emerged as the most serious suitors for Brewer, who could play a key bench role for either team. The Timberwolves and Cavs have done previous business as they headlined the biggest postseason move in trading Kevin Love for Andrew Wiggins.

In return, the Timberwolves are looking to build a future with young players, something they started this year after trading away Kevin Love for the 19-year-old, first overall pick in the 2014 draft Andrew Wiggins.

The Cavs are looking for a guy who can play the two-man or three-man position in order to reduce some of LeBron James’ minutes while the Houston Rockets coach Kevin McHale drafted Brewer in Minnesota when he was still the Wolves’ general manager and have had active interest in him for a while.

Brewer was part of two NCAA title teams at Florida and, after going to Minnesota with the seventh overall pick in the 2007 draft, also played on a championship team in the NBA with Dallas in 2011.

‎For his career, Brewer has averaged 10 points and three rebounds in 25.6 minutes per game. This year, Corey Brewer is averaging just 9.8 points per game.
