Toronto Raptors’ Greivis Vasquez Reaches Out To Star Of Viral Video (Video)
By Phil Watson
When Greivis Vasquez of the Toronto Raptors saw a video of a comic being mocked on the street over his disability, the basketball player reached out.
Toronto comic Andre Arruda posted a video of people making snide comments and just generally being rude to him as he cruised around the city on his scooter.
Arruda has Morquio syndrome, often associated with dwarfism, and is just a bit more than three feet tall.
He refers to himself as “antigiant,” but the reaction of some of the people in the video is disturbing. Laughing at dwarfs is cool? Apparently, it is in some parts of Toronto, as is taunting, staring and mockery.
The video, from KeyFork TV, was inspired by the recent video entitled “10 Hours of Walking in NYC as a Woman.”

Greivis Vasquez of the Toronto Raptors saw the video and reached out to Arruda, inviting him to the Raptors’ game against the Utah Jazz at the Air Canada Centre Saturday night.
Vasquez provided courtside seats complete with pre- and postgame passes and also posed for some photos, according to TMZ.com.
A representative for Vasquez told TMZ that the player just “wanted to put a smile on Arruda’s face.”
A nice gesture from Vasquez, but it’s obvious that Arruda—also an actor who has appeared on television’s Warehouse 13 and the film Hank and Mike—is comfortable enough in his own skin to take on whatever the various unwashed will dish out.
