Dallas Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones said that QB Tony Romo made the most of his bye week in recovering from a back injury.

We’ll know for sure when he hits the field in Week 12, but it appears that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is recovered and ready to go after enjoying a well-timed bye week in Week 11. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones spoke on KRLD FM this week about Romo and had nothing but glowing praise for him.

“I think it’s really beneficial, and he knows how to use it,” Jones said Tuesday morning on 105.3 The Fan, per the Dallas Morning News. “I think by the time we kickoff Sunday he will have maximized this break for himself and for us. I was really pleased he had the outing he had in London. It certainly showed that with a couple more weeks of just simple letting it rest, if no other thing, then he’ll be in better shape in that particular area of his back.”

Romo gutted out an impressive performance in London with two fractures in his transverse process, leading the Cowboys over the Jacksonville Jaguars to put them at 7-3 entering the bye week. Now, rested and healthy, Romo and the Cowboys can turn to the heated race for the NFC East crown, for which they received a bit of help from the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers stomped division-leading Philadelphia Eagles 53-20 to put Philly and Dallas at an equal record with two games yet to be played between the teams. Both should be events in and of themselves provided Romo can stay healthy and avoid dooming the Cowboys with Brandon Weeden under center. The first of their two matches comes on Thanksgiving day when Dallas plays their traditional home game.
