Lakers’ Nick Young Receives Warning for Flopping by NBA
In his first game back, Nick Young received a flopping warning from the NBA.
Los Angeles Lakers sixth man Nick Young hasn’t been back from injury for more than two games and he’s already receiving flopping warnings from the NBA, per Eric Picnus of the Los Angeles Times:
As stated in the above tweet, Young’s infraction occurred in the Lakers second victory of the season over the Atlanta Hawks as the shooting guard exaggerated contact as Hawks guard Kyle Korver contested a corner-3.
In the below Vine, you can see Korver and Young’s bodies never connected.
Nick Young is a fun player who probably brings more off-the-court than on, but this was egregious and worthy of a complaint from the NBA. Of course, the Lakers likely don’t — and won’t — mind as the Lakers are currently winners of their last two games, the lone two games Young has played in this season.

In those games, Young is averaging 16.5 points on 48 percent shooting (33 percent from three), 4.5 rebounds, and 0.0 assists (surprise, surprise!). Prior to Young’s return, the Lakers struggled to produce points from the bench, but with Swaggy P back in town, he’ll help in that area tons, as well as lessen the load for an older Kobe Bryant who needs to see a decline in shot attempts per game as well as minutes per game.
Hopefully, Young doesn’t find himself subject to the leagues discretion as the next flop will result in a $5000 fine per the NBA rules.
