It may sound weird, a Lion being hospitable, but it’s happening right now as the Detroit Lion organization is doing everything they can to help their guests, the Buffalo Bills, who will be using their stadium Monday.

It has been pretty well-documented that Buffalo and surrounding areas are currently experiencing one of the worst snow storms in recent memory, if not the worse as the city has declared a state of emergency.

The snowstorm had the Buffalo Bills originally asking for fans to help shovel out the stadium for the game against the Jets this weekend, but after about a day it became inevitable that there would be no way they could play the game in Ralph Wilson Stadium.

So with that, the NFL decided on moving the Sunday game to Monday night at the Detroit stadium in relief to keep everyone safe.

Since arriving in Detroit Friday the team has gotten to practice for the first time all week and coach Doug Marrone said this about the hospitality the Bills have already received.

"“They’ve been outstanding, I can’t say enough. That’s unheard of in this league”"

It really is, and quarterback Kyle Orton was also thankful saying, “They made it as smooth a transition as it could be.”

The Lions are not strangers to hosting a game that they will not be playing in as they did it in December 2010 after 17 inches of snow caused the old Metrodome roof to collapse.

The organization is offering tickets for free to the game Monday night.
