The Oakland Raiders got their first win of the season on Thursday against the Kansas City Chiefs, thus putting an end to the speculation that the Raiders would go 0-16 this year. However, their win could have been ruined if not for a heads-up time out by Justin Tuck while Sio Moore and three other Raiders conducted a prolonged sack dance, oblivious to the Chiefs offense coming to the line and preparing to run a play. Had the play gone off, it would have been 11 Chiefs on seven Raiders, or, obviously an offsides penalty.
Charles Woodson said after the game that he and Moore might have had to fight, had the Raiders lost because of that sack dance.
"“I couldn’t believe it,” Woodson said, via Michael Wagaman of ESPN.com. “That was the first time I had ever seen somebody celebrate for a whole 40-second clock. That was ridiculous, and they know it. I told Sio he’s lucky we got the win because we really probably would’ve had to fight, and I would’ve seen exactly what kind of fighter he is.”"
As reported by Pro Football Talk, Moore has since apologized for the dance, saying that he got too caught up in the moment. He added that it was an error and he would make sure to clean it up.
Fortunately for the Raiders, it was all moot in the end as the Chiefs turned the ball over on downs with an incomplete pass and the Raiders got their first win of the season.
