Derek Jeter Hits The Links With President Obama
By Hayden Kane
Former New York Yankees‘ shortstop Derek Jeter seems to be enjoying retirement. This weekend he hit the links for a round of golf with none other than President Obama.
Having left behind the life of an MLB great, at least as a player, Derek Jeter is now living retired life. And what do people do after they retire? They play golf. Jeter is no different.

That’s just what people do after they retire. It will not surprise you to learn, however, that Derek Jeter’s golf rounds do not resemble those of people in other occupations after they reach retirement.
While most people golf with their friends or whatever Joe’s they get paired with for the day, Derek Jeter plays golf with the president. As passed along to us by John Ourand:
Important follow-up question: who were the other two people in the foursome?
Oh yea, them…of course? And did he mean Brian Greenspan, noted defence attorney (spelled with a ‘C’ for your Canadians out there)? Would that be more or less weird?
Of note: competitiveness is a trait that people love to obsess about with Jeter and with President Obama. If that is to be believed, then you have a guy playing with the president who won’t let him win, and a president who wouldn’t want to have opponents let him win.
Let’s just say that this may or may not have been a friendly round of golf between the Captain and the President, and those other two guys too.
