UCLA punter Matt Mengel just really, really loves his eye black…smeared all over his face…in a really weird pattern.

Football players sometimes like to take something as simple as eye black, which is simply meant to keep the glare out of your face, and get all creative with it. Generally, their intention is to make themselves look fierce and tough and rugged and grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Now normally the players that go this route are the ones out there doing a lot of the hitting, not someone like a punter.

But, you see, Bruins punter Matt Mengel really doesn’t care about this stereotype. No, a lot of the other Bruins players painted their faces for the rivalry game, and by god, her was going to too!

Not only did he join in on the face paint deal with his fellow teammates, he went all out and maybe has the best design on the entire team.

Of course, the internet had their fun with this.

Hey, at the very least, he’s gotten more attention than any other punter today.
