St. Louis Blues netminder Brian Elliott wants us all to know what happened to his athletic cup

More from NHL

Being a goalie is tough; you may be the only person on the ice who consistently gets peppered with both pucks and human bodies, and no one does anything about it.

Part of being the toughest person on the ice, of course, means having the toughest protection. St. Louis Blues goalie Brian Elliott wants to remind all of us of that — no, but he really wants to show us.

Elliott tweeted out this picture on Friday, making sure that everyone has visual evidence that he’s the toughest person in the whole entire NHL and came dangerously close to sacrificing the family jewels — just for the sake of the game.

#HashtagHashtag.

To Elliott’s credit, he’s been one of the best netminders in the NHL so far this season — regardless of how physical he’s getting. He’s got a .927 SV% in his first thirteen games of the season, and currently sits on an impressive 1.90 GAA over an 8-4-1 record for October and November.

I can’t help but point out, though… If Elliott tweeted this on the 21st, and the team played on the 20th — but he didn’t — WHAT HAPPENED HERE?

Actually, no. I don’t want an answer.
