Cardinals vs. Seahawks Final Score: Seattle Makes Statement, 19-3
By Phil Watson
The Seattle Seahawks lost at home to the Arizona Cardinals during their Super Bowl season. On the outside of the playoff picture, they didn’t let it happen again.
The Seattle Seahawks have had a bit of a Super Bowl hangover in 2014, starting the season 3-3.
Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals have had their way in the NFC, winning nine of their first 10 games to open up a three-game lead in the NFC West.
But on Sunday at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, the Seahawks made a statement, smacking around the Cardinals literally and figuratively in a dominant 19-3 victory.

The Seahawks (7-4) shut the Cardinals (9-2) down, holding them to 204 total yards and sacking quarterback Drew Stanton three times.
But they whacked Stanton eight other times and shut down the Cardinal running game, as well, en route to an important win.
Russell Wilson was 17-for-22 for 211 yards and a touchdown and shook off seven sacks, rushing for 73 yards on 10 carries.
That was important on a day when Marshawn Lynch was held to 39 yards on 15 attempts.
Steven Hauschka kicked four field goals, hitting from 27, 32, 52 and 40 yards to give Seattle a 12-3 lead and Wilson sealed the win with a 20-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Helfet with 52 seconds to go in the third quarter.
Cliff Avril had two of Seattle’s three sacks and had three hits on Stanton, as well.
Calais Campbell had three sacks for Arizona in a losing effort. The Cardinals’ lone score came with 14 seconds left in the first half on a 23-yard field goal by Chandler Catanzaro. He also missed from 49 yards in the first quarter.
Stanton was 14-for-26 for 149 yards and threw one interception. He also scrambled four times for 23 yards. But Andre Ellington was held to just 24 yards on 10 attempts as Arizona ran for just 64 yards on the day.
The Cardinals still have the best record in the NFC, a game ahead of the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles.
Seattle visits the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday, while the Cardinals head to the Georgia Dome to play the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday.
