Minnesota Vikings May Have Been Pushing To Play Adrian Peterson All Season
Minnesota Vikings tried to get Adrian Peterson back on the field leading up to his trial
The Minnesota Vikings weren’t the only team stuck playing without a star roster member this season, but it’s hard to keep that in perspective when things aren’t going your way.

The Vikings are fourth in the NFC North, bearing the weight of a slightly dismal 4-6 record on the season so far.
It can’t all be placed on Peterson, but no one is disputing — with Adrian Peterson in the lineup, Minnesota almost certainly would have met with more success than they have.
Peterson has been suspended since the second game of the season, following his indictment by the Montgomery County police department in Texas for child abuse charges. He is now suspended for the remainder of the season without pay, and it’s unclear as to whether he’ll get a chance to play in Minnesota next season upon his reinstatement.
This news came as a shock to many; Peterson had accepted a plea agreement in the case in hopes of returning to the field by Week 11. Looks like the team had been hoping it would be even earlier than that:
This comes as little surprise; the Vikings wouldn’t be the only team attempting to gain amnesty during an indefinite suspension. The Los Angeles Kings of the NHL — though far more vocal about it — attempted to do the same thing regarding reinstatement for defenseman Slava Voynov, who was suspended indefinitely on October 20th following his arrest for suspected domestic abuse.
