Samaje Perine is the toast of the town this week after the Oklahoma freshman running back broke the FBS single-game rushing record with 427 yards against Kansas and now he’s the star in the latest animated short from the Taiwanese animation team, NMAtv

They say records are meant to be broken, but I don’t think they meant after one week. Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon’s single-game rushing record of 408 yards he set in the Badgers win last week has fallen after Oklahoma freshman Samaje Perine ran for 427 yards against Kansas. Perine got the record on his 34th carry and also had five touchdowns in his record-breaking performance.

The previous record holder, LaDainian Tomlinson had his record stand since he set the mark against UTEP in 1999 before Gordon broke it last week and surged to the top of the Heisman Trophy conversation. Gordon did all of his damage in three quarters before sitting out the blowout, but he could have ran for 500 yards that day.

Perine became the first Oklahoma running back to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season since DeMarco Murray did so in 2010 and the first freshman running back at Oklahoma since Adrian Peterson in 2004 to top the century mark in the Sooners win last week.

As if all this wasn’t enough for the freshman running back, now he’s the star of the latest animated short from NMAtv and it should win some sort of award because it is so incredible.
