Cleveland Browns Never Considered Benching Brian Hoyer
By Josh Sanchez
Despite a three interception performance in Week 12, the Cleveland Browns coaching staff never considered benching Brian Hoyer for Johnny Manziel.
While Brian Hoyer struggled against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12 with a three interception performance, the Cleveland Browns coaching staff continues to show him their full support.

In fact, unfortunately for Johnny Manziel’s girlfriend, the Browns never considered benching Hoyer in favor of their 2014 first-round pick.
Browns head coach Mike Pettine shared that news during his Monday press conference, while continuing to put his full support behind Hoyer as the team’s starting quarterback.
“The way he handled it was outstanding,” Pettine said, via the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
If the support from the coaching staff wasn’t enough, Hoyer has also won over his teammates.

“I don’t think there’s ever a time during a game when we think we’re out of it because we have No. 6 running the show,” Browns wide receiver Andrew Hawkins said.
“It’s not just him, the guys around him are busting their butts, but there’s no question he’s the leader on offense. When you have confidence in your leader and he has confidence in himself and the rest of the team then the sky is really the limit on any given Sunday.”
As long as Hoyer can continue to command respect in the huddle, it is safe to say that the starting job will be his — especially if Johnny Manziel continues to find himself in less than ideal situations off the field.
