The Los Angeles Lakers are considering waiving point guard Ronnie Price who they signed this past offseason.

It appears Ronnie Price’s tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers could be coming to a relatively soon end as the point guard could be cut by the team in the coming days.

Dealing with a significant amount of injuries, it seems odd to suggest the Lakers would put themselves another man down but thanks to Price’s unguaranteed contract it’s a possibility.

That’s the word from David Pick who hears Price’s roster spot with the Lakers is in jeopardy.

Price was signed by the Lakers earlier this past offseason and was thought to likely have a mildly significant role after Steve Nash injured himself, though despite averaging 21 minutes per game has disappointed with his play.

Currently Ronnie Price is averaging a sub par 3.3 points and 3.8 assists this season all while shooting a dreadful 24.5 percent from the floor.

Needles to say it’s not as if the Los Angeles Lakers will be missing much if they cut ties with Ronnie Price.

If such is to happen, it’s not known if Price would continue to be on the Los Angeles Lakers radar moving forward (assuming he’s not picked up by another team) or if they’d be ridding themselves of the point guard permanently.

You may recall it wasn’t that long ago when Lakers head coach Byron Scott all but hinted that Price could eventually move ahead of Jeremy Lin as the starting point guard, so it’s been a hefty fall from grace for the former Utah State product.
