Los Angeles Lakers coach Byron Scott says the team will “forcefeed” Nick Young the ball to break his shooting slump.

It’s been said that you don’t want to feed the monster if you don’t want to deal with the repercussions, but the Los Angeles Lakers at 3-11 have become desperate and are now opting to play with fire.

How, you ask? By “forcefeeding” the ball to Nick Young.

The former USC Trojan who has never met a shot he didn’t like and can make J.R. Smith blush at times with his questionable decisions has struggled since returning from his injury. Given that, Lakers head coach Byron Scott says they plan to force the issue with Nick Young in hopes of breaking him out of his slump.

Talk about pouring gasoline onto the open flame.

Of course, at this point there’s nothing really for the Los Angeles Lakers to lose as they’ve proven themselves to be one of the worst teams in the NBA through the early portion of the season. Perhaps giving Nick Young the rock consistently will allow him to snap out of his cold streak and return to form where he and Kobe Bryant can potentially form a formidable one-two attack on the perimeter.

Still that does nothing for the Lakers lack of presence inside despite their recent signing of Earl Clark, so it looks to be more “live by the jumper, die by the jumper”.

Sadly for Nick Young, the “forcefeeding” couldn’t come against a worst team as the Memphis Grizzlies are among one of the most stout defensive teams in the league, especially on guards.

Hopefully fans in attendance will have their hard hats on in case of any wayward airballs.
