Rex Ryan Makes Great Joke, Says New York Jets Have Two Good Quarterbacks
By Sam Richmond
New York Jets coach Rex Ryan says he believes the team has two good quarterbacks in Geno Smith and Michael Vick. He is alone in thinking that.
At 2-9, the New York Jets have been absolutely terrible this year. Their quarterback play is partly to blame for such struggles.

Geno Smith has not progressed in his second year like the Jets surely hoped he would and Michael Vick has looked nothing like the guy that once electrified the NFL.
But, despite Smith and Vick’s struggles, Jets coach Rex Ryan said the Jets have “two good quarterbacks,” according to Pro Football Talk.
"“I have said it all along I feel we have two good quarterbacks, I definitely feel that. And we have another guy that is a decent quarterback as well, in [Matt] Simms. But I feel that way,” Ryan said."
Good one, Rex. Oh, he wasn’t joking?
This has got to be the case of a coach simply sticking up for his players since there’s no way Ryan actually believes Smith and Vick are any good right now.
If that’s the case, it’s hard to fault Ryan. It’s not as if he could just come out and say both players are terrible.
Still, it’s funny to hear Ryan have to make comments like these.
The Jets announced Wednesday that Smith will start for them going forward. He has thrown seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions in nine games this year. Vick has also appeared in nine games, throwing three touchdowns and two interceptions for the season.
