The Philadelphia Eagles are preparing to face the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving and Eagles defensive coordinator Bill Davis has strong respect for how Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is playing.

Tony Romo has a pretty good record in November home games, which is where the Cowboys will be playing the Eagles on Thursday. The record is 16-1 and the game will determine who sits atop the NFC East, at least for a week.

Despite Romo’s record, the Cowboys this year are only 3-3 at home and 5-0 on the road, but the Eagles are aware of Romo’s hot play of late. Eagles defensive coordinator Bill Davis had the following to say via CSN Philly:

"“[Romo] is really hot,” Bill Davis said. “You don’t see any signs of the injury. He’s still moving around and he still has that knack for escaping when you do get there, and looking downfield and making plays. I think he’s at the top of his game right now.”"

The stats back up Davis’ words, despite the oft-repeated and popular narrative that Romo eventually chokes in big games.

Romo has a quarterback rating of 110 or better in four of his last five games and six total this year. His quarterback rating for the year has been at least 93, save the season opener. He has the second longest active streak in the NFL of throwing at least one touchdown pass per game, second only to Peyton Manning with 38 games. Manning has 50. Romo also has a pretty good record on Thanksgiving at 6-1 and a passer rating of 105.8.

If the Eagles want some numbers that go in their favor, then they can take a look at Romo’s more mediocre stats against the Eagles over his career. He’s 7-5 with a 85.7 quarterback rating and a more even touchdown to interception ratio at 17 to 13.
