The Cleveland Cavaliers are making a change at the backup point guard spot, waiving Will Cherry and bringing back A.J. Price, according to a report.

According to a report, the Cleveland Cavaliers have waived backup point guard Will Cherry and will bring back A.J. Price to fill the roster spot.

Cleveland.com is reporting the move, citing a league source.

Price went through the preseason and started the season with the Cavaliers, but was released Nov. 1 and was signed by the Indiana Pacers on Nov. 6.

Indiana waived Price on Friday after he averaged 10.5 points, 2.7 assists and 1.4 rebounds in 19.3 minutes per game in his 10 games with the Pacers, shooting .438/.385/.667.

Price, 28, is in his sixth year out of Connecticut. He was a second-round pick by the Pacers in 2009 and played three seasons with Indiana before going to the Washington Wizards in 2012-13 and the Minnesota Timberwolves last season.

Cherry, 23, was an undrafted free agent out of Montana. Cleveland signed him on Nov. 2 after he had been released by the Toronto Raptors at the end of training camp.

In eight games, Cherry averaged 8.6 minutes, 1.9 points and one assist per game, shooting .263/.222/.500.

The Cavaliers are still without injured guard Matthew Dellavedova, who is the primary backup to Kyrie Irving, so Price should see solid minutes right away.

Cleveland’s next game is Tuesday when they host the Milwaukee Bucks.
