San Diego Chargers punter Mike Scifres got destroyed by New England Patriots‘ Brandon Bolden on a blocked punt.

The San Diego Chargers are hosting the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football in a game with big playoff implications for both teams. The Patriots are fighting for the top-overall seed in the AFC playoffs while the Chargers are in a competitive race for the wild card.

The Chargers were punting when punter Mike Scifres took a huge hit from Patriots’ Brandon Bolden, who blocked the punt. It was a particularly violent hit that seemed to be completely legal, but one that took Scifres out of the game adding an interesting element to the Chargers play-calling throughout the rest of the game

But fortunately he seemed to be ok as he was carted off the field. Bolden went out onto the field to check on Scifres as well, a great show of sportsmanship.
